Charter Revision Requests

Description

Charter School Leaders,

This portal is for Board of Regents Authorized Charter Schools to submit all revision requests for consideration to the New York State Department of Education Charters School Office. Prior to proceeding with the submission process in this portal carefully review all Revision Guidelines and contact your CSO liaison to discuss the appropriateness of your request. All revisions must be submitted via the NYSED CSO Portal. If you have any questions or need resources please contact your CSO liaison or send an email to CharterSchools@nysed.gov

Existing charter schools must submit all material revisions no later than December 1st of the year prior to the academic year in which the proposed revision will commence.

Schools must submit a NEW REQUEST for each Revision Request. 

If a task is not applicable as indicated in the guidance, please upload a document noting that the task is not applicable.

Note: Changes to the school’s charter, whether they are material or non-material, may not be implemented until approved by the CSO or the Board of Regents, whichever is applicable. Any proposed revisions or portions thereof that are not specifically approved are deemed denied.
